Liwei Chen has been a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Nils Thuerey’s group since August 2019. His research focuses on the development of deep learning models to infer Navier–Stokes solutions, with a particular interest in exploring their potential applications in engineering, such as shape optimization and flow control. Prior to his current position, he held various positions in academia and industry. He worked as the Lead Aerodynamics Engineer at GE Global Research (München), a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford, and a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton. He earned his doctorate in fluid mechanics from the University of Science and Technology of China in July 2010. Liwei Chen is experienced in computational fluid dynamics, turbulence modeling, aerodynamics, and high-performance computing.
